Make Money Online? Don’t Start with an eBook
0 Comments | Posted by cashschool in Money Making Methods
So you want to make money online?
Of course you do, who doesn’t?
You hear all these success stories of people who make $500 a day selling their remarkable eBook online. You decide, if they can do it, you can, and set out to write your very own eBook.
Don’t do it – you won’t make any where near the money they do!
Why won’t you make that much? It’s a simple reason…
No one knows who you are!
More and more people are doing their research on the author’s of eBook before the shell over their money. They want to know who you are and what you’ve done.
Make no mistake – I think creating an eBook is a great way to make money online, but it’s something you have to do after you’ve established yourself.
How to establish yourself to make money online
Establishing yourself as an authority involves doing things that resemble SEO practices with a few additional factors. I created a check list for you to check over to make sure you have before you decide to make an eBook.
And those factors are…
- Have AT LEAST 300 posts on your blog – having 300 posts will allow people to know you know what you’re talking about and build up a RSS reader base
- Your site should have more than 100 personal comments on it – by personal comments, I mean comments registered by actual viewers, not track backs, pings, but by actual human beings.
- You should be able to include a lot more (and useful) information in your eBook then you supply on your site. If you talk about the same stuff and provide the same tips in your eBook as you have on your site, your customer will see absolutely NO value in their purchase and will be reluctant to ever purchase something from you again!
I remember the time I bought an eBook for $37 and it provided exactly the same information that was on the page and that I ALREADY knew! I fought tooth and nail to get my money back, that’s how upset I was at that rip off. You want your customers to associate your name with value.
Am I ready to make money online with an eBook?
If you’ve done everything on the checklist then it all comes down to your gut feeling. If you can safely and comfortably tell yourself that your eBook is going to be useful and important to all of its readers, then go for it! If not, you need some work…

Google AdWords, should you use it?
0 Comments | Posted by cashschool in Money Making Methods
There is no question in my mind that Google AdWords will drive traffic to your site. I’ve experimented with Google AdWords on my sites and every time I’ve seen heavy traffic increases to my page. The problem is, it costs money. Money that many of us who are starting out trying to make money online don’t have.
Google AdWords
If you are unfamiliar with Google AdWords, it is basically an advertising service offered by Google which allows you to “bid” on keywords so that you can have your advertisement on the sponsored results section of Google searches and AdSense ads. You set a budget as the absolute maximum you’re willing to spend for the month ($50 minimum), choose keywords you want to focus your ads towards, and write a short description of your site. Every time a person clicks on your ad, you’re charged whatever the bid on that keyword is going for that day.
Google AdWords: The secret of many internet marketers
Google AdWords is the little secret many of the internet marketers don’t want you to know. You know the ones who show you checks of unbelievable amounts of money they made online? Many of them hide the fact that they spent close to that amount in Google AdWords. So while they did make the amount they’ve shown in their check, it is not their net profit. They show you the check they’ve earned in AdSense revenue and hide the fact that their expenses were extremely high in AdWords costs.
Many sites have been extremely successful with Google AdWords because they implement it the correct way. They use AdWords, SEO techniques, and various other methods of promotion to get the most visitors to their site. If you’re willing to do this, then Google AdWords is perfect for you. You’ll quickly notice dramatic jumps in your traffic when you have a Google AdWords account as your ads are placed in very specific, traffic minded, places.
My theory is, if your site is brand new, hold off on the AdWords. The great thing about AdWords is that it gets you quick traffic to your site. So, if you’ve got a new site that is very bare with little engaging content, those who arrive to your site via Google AdWords ads will more then likely leave right away and never come back, and you’ve just wasted money for that visit. Now, if you have a very developed and engaging site, Google AdWords is the perfect way to get the word out about your site. Thousands will be exposed to the link daily and it acts sort of like a TV commercial for a new business. Most people never heard about your site, but they soon will.

3 Mental Advantages to Make Money Online
1 Comment | Posted by cashschool in Money Making Methods
Starting a website can be a mental drain, trust me, I know. You hear all of these success stories all around you and read tons of articles which show you the exact step by step tips that successful internet marketers have used to make money online and become excited about the endless possibilities. Your excitement carries for the first couple weeks as you constantly add posts to your blog and promote your site. However, just as when you start an exercise routine, there is a hill you must climb over. For many, that hill reaches its peak a few months after starting the blog.
That hill can be a difficult route to overcome and many decide to just turn around and coast back down the hill. Many bloggers are not realistic about their goals and expect to make their first big paycheck in their first month. When that first month produces little to no money, bloggers are quick to brand their efforts useless and pointless. You know that old saying, “the first million is always the hardest to get?” Well in terms of creating your own site to make money online, 100 unique hits a day is the hardest to get. After your HostGator awstats shows 100 unique hits a day on average, your site tends to go on cruise control and the money starts to come in.
Until you reach that 100 unique hit, you’ve got to find ways to give yourself mental advantages so that you don’t give up on a site that could easily mature in a few months into the premiere site in its niche. In order to help you gain mental advantages to make money online, I’ve put together a few pointers I’ve used with great success to help you overcome the mental strain a new blog and its blogger faces.
- 100 posts/articles is the magic number: Many eBooks and people will tell you that after you reach 30 posts/articles, you will then see a jump in traffic from search engines and greater ad revenue. My personal experience has been that the number is more like 100 posts. In all of my sites, I’ve received far greater and more livable money once I’ve reached 100 posts on the site. So remember, until you’ve reached 100 posts on your site you probably won’t make much money online.
- Join Chikita: While AdSense will probably generate you more money once your site reaches the 100 unique hits a day mark, until then you won’t see much of a profit. Discussions I’ve had with other site owners has led to me to suppose that you need around 1,000 impressions a day to make a decent amount (your earnings will vary depending on the keyword the Ad is focused on). Until then, use Chikita along with Google Ad Sense. Chikita targets ads based on the exact search phrase a visitor typed into a search engine. Thus, you get more clicks on the ads, which makes you more money. When it comes to making money online, incremental gains in money can go a long way as a mental advantage.
- Don’t be a stalker: By that I mean, don’t check your Google Ad Sense, Chikita, eBay Partner Network, and other affiliate program earnings every day. Wait to check it every two weeks. If you can’t wait every two weeks, try to check it only once a week. If you hold off on how often you check your earnings, you will be more surprised by the amount you’ve made when you do check. That surprise can provide a mental boosting encouraging you to further add content and promote your site in hopes of beating that money made on your next cycle.
As I said, starting a website is a test of your mental toughness. The hill you have to climb in order to make money online is a steep one full of rough terrain. But trust me, once you get over that peak, you’ve never seen a more beautiful terrain.

In these times, everything is tough, jobs are at an all time low and the demand for jobs increases exponentially every day. More demand for jobs means stiffer competition. Your 4.0 GPA at your second or third tier undergraduate school along with all of those awards you got still isn’t making much of a path towards getting a second, nevertheless first interview. In order to stand out in this economy you have to be original, do things that are unexpected, and make your resume really noticeable.
I entered the job market at the beginning of this economic downturn right after graduating from one of the more prestigious universities in the north east. Thinking I had the job market at my disposal I faced the harsh reality that finding a job in this economy is a lot more difficult then I thought. After weeks of searching and sending in my resume to no avail I went back to the drawing board and altered my approach to finding a job.
In order to get the attention I needed to make myself the top candidate for the job I was after, I needed to realize a few things:
- I couldn’t sound desperate to make money
- My resume had to contain aspects that were not only impressive but original
- I had to increase my presence and stand out
The first aspect of my realizations prompted me to dabble into the make money online world. Without a job, I needed to have some sort of supplemental income so that I didn’t sound desperate to make money at my job interview. Throughout my experiences in life, I’ve realized that one of the most important things in anything you approach in life is that you stay relaxed. Anxiety can destroy you if you let it take over. It can cause you to sweat in your interview, blank out during questions, stutter, and a host of other negatives. If you’re low on money or even desperate for it, you’ll go into the job interview thinking that you have to get the job and this can very easily lead to anxiety. When you did like I did, which was I learned how to make money online so that I had money to hold me over, you’re able to go into the job interview as your NORMAL self and present your NORMAL self. Not this wound up, nervous, sweating in December person that in no way, shape, or form reflects the true you.
When I got into the interview, I knew that my resume stood out and contained aspects that impressed any future employers. Realizing I didn’t have many outstanding credentials or experience, I knew I had to spice up my resume. What I did was gathered a list of all the software, systems, and equipment I used from previous jobs and put on my resume that I was familiar with it. So if you used to use a “Acme Model x03523″ transaction recording device at your previous job, on your resume it would say “Proficient in using Acme Model x03523 equipment.” Sounds important doesn’t it?
Besides that, I also included samples of my work in every resume I sent out. I was frequently asked during internships and previous employment to create presentations or press releases to be presented in million dollar deals. So, I’d include parts of these presentations/press releases and put in my resume “frequently involved in aspects of multi-million dollar deals (see attachments).” It may cost a little extra to have numerous presentations printed out, but I feel it is vital in your job hunt.
Finally, in order to increase my presence and really stand out I did some out tried and true methods along with some out of the ordinary methods. I did tried and true methods like networking with those in the industry I wished to get a career in. Whether it be talking to people at the gym or frequenting deli’s and restaurants that employees of the marketing agency I was after went to on their lunch break.
My out of the ordinary methods included posting my job credentials online (today you would use Craigslist and Linked-In) along with my most effective method. While I have to give the credit for this idea to Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”, it was most effective. I sent a first class, next day delivery envelope containing my resume and attachments to the companies I most wanted to work for. I would call the next day to make sure they received the package and then call a week later if I didn’t hear from them. After two weeks of no response, I’d send another next day delivery with a friendly note explaining my desire to work there and just making sure my initial package wasn’t lost. Now you could send a regular envelope but we all know, no matter how many times you see it, a first-class next day envelope looks important and really stands out.
I used these methods to help me effectively stand out in this economy and I hope it helps you. If all else fails, we can still continue to make money online and not feel so burdened by bills!
